bobby: you know, i've only ever used shapes, tons of them... but i've recently realized i could make use of some custom brushes on occation. in this picture, all of the little squidy reef plants are little shapes i made, usually copying them in groups and transforming them all over the rest of the picture, its sort of the same technique as using a custom brush only not as convenient... so i'm going to look into using custom brushes!

This is awesome! You've managed to translate an EXTREMELY complex scenario into several simplified planes that works beautifully.
